In Duhallow A.D.S. Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 232314 Driver George Chrisp, serving with the Royal Field Artillery who died 09/12/1917.

John Taylor and Ann Norman have submitted the following:

George Michael Chrisp was born into a coal mining family in St. Thomas Parish in about 1897. His parents were George and Margaret Chrisp, and he was the fourth of ten children. The family lived at 15 Long Row, Mount Village in 1911.

He served as a Driver/Gunner with the Royal Field Artillery, regimental number 232314. He was killed in action at Ypres in Flanders, Belgium, on the Western Front on 9th December 1917.

He is remembered in Eighton Banks on E50.01 and E50.02
