In Becourt Military Cemetery, Becordel-Becourt is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1605 Private Septimus Anderson, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 01/07/1916.

John Taylor and Ann Norman have submitted the following:

Septimus Anderson was born in Urpeth Colliery, County Durham in about 1882, the son of George and Mary Ann Anderson. He was employed as a coal miner. He married Jane Ellen, about 1906 and they lived at Wakefield Square, Wrekenton, later moving to 8 West View, also in Wrekenton.

He served as a Private with 24th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers (Tyneside Irish), regimental number 24/1605. He was killed in action on the Western Front on 1st July 1916. He is also remembered in Ireland’s Great War Memorial Records, and with a photograph on the Gateshead War Honours Scrapbook 1914-1920.
