Flight Engineer John A. Wilson was a crew member of Lancaster III PB572 HWF to Ludwigshaven which took off from Grimsby on 1st February 1945. It was from 100 Sqdn doing ECM work (transmitting spurious information) and carried a crew of 9 which was unusual, having two pilots and two navigators.
All are buried near Bad Tolz in Dürnbach War Cemetery. It was one of nine Lancasters lost that night on the same raid, nearly all of the crews are buried in the same place.
