The Newcastle Evening Chronicle 21/01/1943 reported the following:
Mr and Mrs J L Mordue, of 9, Shibdon Street, Blaydon, have had official news that their son, L.A.C. William Joseph Mordue (22), R.A.F.V.R., has died of wounds in a North African hospital.

He is remembered in Blaydon on B111.01
