On the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, France is the name of 1957 Corporal Richard Bell Adamson serving with the 1st/6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry who died 05/11/1916.

Son of Margaret Adamson, of High Red Burn, Rookhope, Eastgate, Co. Durham, and the late Ambrose Adamson.

In Rookhope St. John's Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:-

In loving memory
of Ambrose
beloved husband of
Margaret Adamson
of High Red Burn
who died Dec. 11th 1923
aged 78 years
The above
Margaret Adamson
died Jan. 10th 1934 aged 85 years
Richard Bell their son
killed in action in France
Nov. 5th 1916 aged 26 years
