Menin Gate Memorial

On Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial is the name of 11905 Private Wilson Million serving with the 2nd Battalion Durham Light Infantry who died 09/08/1915.

Ron Shotton has submitted the following:-

Wilson was the son of Tom and Mary Jane Million and was born 1883 at Evenwood. Tom died in 1907 and Mary Jane in 1914. Wilson married Betsy Thompson in 1909 and in 1911 they had two children Harold and Eva and were living at Byker. Wilson was a coal miner (hewer)

Wilson enlisted at Newcastle, went to France 05/01/1915 and was killed in action 09/08/1915.

Wilson Million is remembered at High Etherley on H127.01 and H127.02
