Walter was the son of Anthony and Rose Hannah Greavison and was born 1899 at Etherley. In 1911 the family were living at Primrose Cottage Middleston Moor, Anthony was a coal miner and Walter was still at school.
Walter enlisted at Bishop Auckland as a Private- Service number 3418 which was later changed to 250393, went to France and was killed in action 14/04/1917.
Walter Greavison (Grieveson) is remembered at High Etherley on H127.01 and H127.02
