In Sage War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1265860 Sergeant Norman Young, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 27/03/1943.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

Sgt. Young was killed when Short Stirling I BF317 MG-X of 7 Sqn was lost on a mission to Berlin. The Stirling was shot down by flak, and crashed some 7 miles south-west of Bremen, with the loss of all seven crew members.
