Raisbeck, K., AC2 (Cadet), 1944
In Miami (Grand Army of the Republic) Cemetery, Miami, Oklahoma, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1807868 Aircraftman 2nd Class Kenneth Raisbeck, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 26/06/1944.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

AC2 Raisbeck was in the U..S.A. undergoing flying training at No. 3 B.F.T.S., at the Spartan School of Flying, Miami, Oklahoma. He was killed in a flying accident some 4.5 miles south of Oswego, Kansas, whilst on a solo flight.

His death was reported in the Emporia Gazette, Kansas, on 27/06/1944:

Miami June 27 – a British cadet killed Monday in a trainer plane crash near Oswego was identified by authorities at the Spartan School of Aeronautics today as K Raisbeck, 26, a former London policeman. Funeral services will be held here tomorrow with burial in the G.A.R. cemetery.

His funeral was reported in the Joplin Globe, Thursday 29/06/1944:

HOLY RITES FOR BRITISH CADET KILLED IN CRASH
Miami, Okla., June 28 – Funeral services for K. Raisbeck, 27 years old, of Luton, Bedfordshire, England, a cadet at the Spartan airplane school, who was killed Monday in a plane crash south of Oswego, Kan., were held this afternoon at the Lane funeral home in Miami, with the Rev. Harry Curtis of the First Presbyterian church, and a chaplain of the local British school officiating. Burial was in G.A.R. cemetery in the British corner.

Cadet Raisbeck, who is survived by his widow and one child, who reside in England, was an advanced student at the school, and a member of the graduating class. He was on a routine flight and alone at the time of the crash.

He is remembered in Bishop Auckland on B140.01 and at Shildon on S122.02
