On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 119536 Pilot Officer Alan Ramsay Cook, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 22/08/1942.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

P/O Cook was lost when Armstrong Whitworth Whitley V Z9294 of 10 O.T.U. (Operational training Unit) was lost on an anti-submarine patrol from R.A.F. St. Eval, with the loss of all six crew members.

He is remembered in Bishop Auckland on B140.01 and B140.06
