Sergeant Myers was serving with 1662 H.C.U. He was a crew member of Halifax II W7778 which took off from Blyton on a Bullseye Training sortie. It crashed near Sotby in Lincolnshire killing all the crew.

Formed 29.1.41 at Blyton with a UE of 16+0 B MkI. II and Halifaxes and 16+0 Lancasters. Satellite airfield Elsham Wolds. Also received some B Mk III Halifaxes. On 12.2.44 Lancaster flight moved to Hemswell (Lancaster Finishing School). Disbanded 6.4.45.
