In St.Mary's Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 229428 Driver Robert Johnson, serving with Royal Army Service Corps who died 24/12/1946.

The headstone reads:

in affectionate remembrance of
Robert
Beloved husband of
Ann Johnson
who died 24th December 1946 aged 40 years.

Death divides memory clings.

He is remembered at Coxhoe on C103.01 and C103.08
