In Brandon (St. John) Church Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-
In loving memory
of
John George
beloved son of
George and Mary Winter
of Brandon
who died 6th Oct. 1903
aged 20 years
also of their son
Pte. William Winter
who fell in action in France
12th April 1918 aged 21 years
William Winter is remembered at Meadowfield on M50.01
He is also remembered in The DLI Book of Remembrance page 81 and in the Battalion History page 266
