In Le Grand Beaumart British Cemetery, Steenwerck is the Commonwealth War Grave of 61629 Private J.J. Davis, serving with the West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) who died 12/04/1918.

The Illustrated Chronicle 17/01/1919 contains the following request for information:

Released prisoners of war. - Missing since April 12th, 1918, Pte. J.J. Davis, 61629, C. Co., 9th Platoon, 15th West Yorks Regt. Any information concerning him will be gratefully received by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. T. Davis, 48 Sunderland Street, Brandon Colliery.
