In Septmonts Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave of 940017 Flight Sergeant George Gill, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 17/04/1943.

F/L Gill was serving with 429 Squadron. He was a crew member of Wellington III BE162 AL-B which took off on a mission to Mannheim. The aircraft was attacked by a night fighter and crashed near Soissons.
