In Dieppe Canadian War Cemetery, Hautot-sur-Mer is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1453939 Sergeant Wireless-Operator/Air Gunner Jack Desmond Pepper, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 28/06/1944.

Sgt. Pepper was serving with 106 Squadron. He was a crew member of Lancaster LL974 ZN-F which took off from Metheringham on a mission to Vitry. The aircraft was shot down by an enemy night fighter and all the crew died.
