Edward was born at Wrexham in 1883. His records are very limited.

He married Mary Frances (nee Richardson) in the Auckland registration district in 1911. She later lived at 5 Chapel Street, Kirk Merrington.

Edward joined up with the Royal Irish Rifles.

He was admitted to hospital on November 10th 1914 due to a sprained back. He was in hospital for almost a month before being discharged on December 9th 1914 when it was noted he had 14 days S.F.

He was listed as wounded on Casualty List issued by the War Office from April and May 1915. No further information is available about him until he died of wounds in hospital at Glasgow on November 18th 1915.
