On the Singapore Memorial is the name of 576400 Aircraftman Second Class Walter Rossiter, serving with the Royal Air Force who died 12/02/1942.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

AC2 Rossiter, of 307 Air Ministry Experimental Station, died during the evacuation of Singapore, possibly aboard the troopship H.M.T. Dunera. He had been attached to 307 A.M.E.S., a radar station, and it is thought he died of wounds received during the evacuation.

He is remembered in Aycliffe on A40.01
