Soldiers Died in the Great War states that he was born in West Kyo and enlisted in Newcastle on Tyne.
In the Blaydon Courier 03/09/1921 is an "In Memoriam " notice which reads:
"In loving memory of our dear son, Pte. Thos. Liddell, of Leadgate, who is presumed dead since Sept. 3rd 1916. Ever remembered."
