In All Saints Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 63677 Private Joseph Thomas Hope serving with the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry who died 02/12/1918.

Husband of Victoria May Hope, of 23, Langley St., Langley Park.

The headstone reads:-

In
loving memory
of
Pte. Joseph Thos. Hope K.O.Y.L.I.
beloved husband of
Victoria Hope, Langley Park
who died of wounds received
in action in France
2nd Dec. 1918 Aged 21 years

Grant him O Lord Thine Eternal rest

Coroner's report Number 520, 09/12/1918.

"Joseph Hope, aged 21 years, Pte. 63677, 9th K.O.Y.L.I. Home address 4 Langley Street, Langley Park, Co Durham. Died in City Fever Hospital, Walker Gate on 2nd December 1918.

After enquiries Coroner granted a Certificate. No inquest necessary. Injured at Seat of War."
