Thompson, W.K., Sgt., 1941
At Kiel War Cemetery, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 654088 Sergeant (Wireless Operator/Air Gunner) William Keith Thompson serving in the 83 Squadron Royal Air Force who died 27/04/1941.

William Keith Thompson, born in Lanchester in 1919, was the son of William Wyllard, born 1888, and Jane Walsh, nee Mole. His parents had married in 1918. There were a number of children: Neil H. 1921, Beryl 1922 and Elaine 1924.

William Keith died at Brunsbüttel, Germany, April 27th 1941. By then his parents were living at Barnes, Surrey. The inscriptions "Brave Deeds Were Done and He Was There" - "Remembered For Ever" were added to his headstone.

William's uncle Henry Percival Thompson died in WW1.

William Keith Thompson is remembered at Lanchester on L62.01 and L62.06
