Scott, J.W., F/Off., 1943
At Esbjerg (Fourfelt) Cemetery, Denmark, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 118600 Flying Officer (Bomb Aimer) John Wardle Scott serving with the 218 (Gold Coast) Squadron Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 29/04/1943.

Dorothy Hall has submitted the following:-

John Wardle Scott, born 19th September 1920, in the Easington District, was the son of John Gilbert and Cicily.

In September 1939, the family were at Ferndale House, Cockfield. John Gilbert, born 1889, was Head Teacher at the local Elementary School, Cicily, born 1889, was a housewife and John Wardle, was an Apprentice Pharmaceutical Chemist.

John died in 1943 and is buried in Denmark. The inscription "Here, A Boy, He Dwelt Through All The Singing Season And Departed As He Came" was added to his headstone.

John Gilbert Scott died at Cockfield in 1947.
