At the Beach Head War Cemetery, Anzio, Italy, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 4389575 Private William Charles Hill serving with the 1st Green Howards who died 31/05/1944.

Dorothy Hall Has submitted the following:-

William Charles Hill, the son of William and Audrey Alice, nee Plant, was born in 1922 at Dudley.

He married in 1936 at Romford, Essex, Edna I. Mason of Lanchester.

He died in Italy in May 1944. The inscription "In Christ Shall All Be Made Alive" was added to his headstone.

William Charles Hill is remembered at Lanchester on L62.01 and L62.06
