Stewart Ian Laing, born 24th April 1962, was the son of Andrew L. and Joyce, nee Fall. His parents had married in Hull in 1955. Stewart had two brothers: Russell 1959 and Andrew 1960. The family moved to Alderside Crescent, Lanchester about 1972.
Stewart was killed in action on Mount Longdon, Falkland Islands in 1982. He was buried in Lanchester Kitswell Road Cemetery.
