Taylor, T., Pte., 1914-18
Pauline Priano has submitted the following:-

Thomas Taylor born 1884 at Pelton, son of coal miner Charles Taylor employed at Moor Pit, Annfield Plain, County Durham, enlisted at Birtley, County Durham, August 31st 1914 for the duration of the war, described as 30 years and 2 months of age, a miner, 5 feet 6 and a half inches tall, fresh completion, hair and eyes, brown.

He was assigned as Private 17558 to the Durham Light Infantry joining his regiment at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland that same day. Initially assigned to the 10th Battalion he was then posted to the 11th and underwent training until October 5th 1914 when the decision was taken that he be discharged under King's Regulations 392 (iii), medically unfit.

Date of demise unknown.
