Plaque: Cresswell 1854

In St. Bartholomew's Church is a plaque for the Cresswell family which includes the following:

To the memory also of
William Gilfrid
3rd son of A.J.B. Cresswell and Elizabeth Mary his wife,
Captain in the XI (P.A.O.) Hussars
who was cut off by the cholera in the Crimea,
when on the march to the ALMA Sept.19th 1854, aged 29, and
was buried in a SOLDIER'S GRAVE with the rites of
the Church of England,
on the morning of the 20th before the
Battle of the Alma.

William Glifrid was born 21st March 1825.
