The Hexham Weekly Courant 14/11/1919 reports:

Handicap at Haydon Bridge
On Armistice Night the final of a handicap was played in the Haydon Bridge Institute for the ‘Victory Trophy’, the gift of the Haydon Parish Solders’ and Sailors’ Welfare Association, for annual competition by the ex-soldier and sailor members of the Institute. The competition had excited keen interest, and the final was played in the presence of a large company. The two finalists were G.T. Brown and John Graham, the trophy being won by the former. Mr. W.S. Walton, vice-president of the Institute, handed over the trophy to Mr. Brown with congratulatory remarks.”
