1914-18 guns refused at Bedlington
At Bedlington Council yesterday a letter was read requesting the Council to send in a list of places in the urban area where it might be decided to have a collection of German rifles, machine guns or trench mortars.

Mr. Baker moved that they send in one place only: that was a mile east of Cambois, which was the North Sea. The place for such things was the bottom of the sea. He for his part did not want to see anything from Germany.

The Chairman (Mr. Robinson) expressed similar views and Mr. N. Reavely having seconded the motion, it was carried unanimously that the Lord Lieutenant of the County be informed that Bedlingtonshire wanted no German guns.
