HOLY ISLAND

Wreck of Junkers, 1941
In the Aviation Musem in Bamburgh Castle is a relic of Junkers Night fighter Ju.88.A-5 4D+EN 5/KG30 which crashed on the North Shore, Holy Island, on 7th May 1941. The crew, all of whom became Prisoners of War, were:
Uffz Hans Schaber;
Gfr. Hainz Noske;
Fw. Paul Graupner;
Gfr. Werner Arndt.
