On 23rd November 1941 there was a Grand Concert at the Essoldo Theatre, Newcastle, by professional variety artists in aid of the Newcastle –on-Tyne Jewish Board of Guardians and the Northumberland & Durham War Needs Fund.
On 15th March 1942 a Grand Concert entitled “Out of the Blue” was presented by the R.A.F. at the Essoldo Theatre, Newcastle, in aid of the R.A.F. Comforts Fund.
On 16th May 1943 there was an Allied Forces’ Concert in the City Hall, Newcastle, featuring the famous Polish Army Choir. This was to raise funds for the Northumberland & Durham War Needs Fund.
