There is a plaque which reads:
These colours
were presented to the
4th Battalion Fifth Fusiliers
by
Field Marshall H.R.H. The Duke of Connaught
Commander in Chief in Ireland
at Dublin on St. George’s Day 1902.
The Battalion was disbanded on 15th November 1906
and these Colours lodged in this Cathedral
on 22nd June 1908.
