Peace celebration gifts to Newcastle
The Newcastle Daily Chronicle 10/09/1919 reports a dinner at the Banqueting Hall in Jesmond to celebrate victory and peace.

It also reports: "During the proceedings, Mr. George Renwick, M.P., presented to the Lord Mayor three silver gift cups as gifts to the city in commemoration of the signing of peace. He said that he had been prompted by his wife to hand over the gifts. They had looked all over London to find something suitable to commemorate such an occasion. They handed over the gifts in the hope that other gifts would be given to the city".
