War Savings Plaque, Christ Church
In Christ Church is a brass plaque which was originally in the West Hartlepool Council Chamber.

It was made by R.H. Mackin, 8 Surtees Street, and Mr Edgar was Mayor in November 1919.

The plaque reads:
Presented by the
West Hartlepool War Savings Committee
In Commemoration
of the record of the town in the raising of
War Loans 1916-1919
and in grateful memory
of the services rendered by the late
Councillor William Edgar, J.P.
during whose mayoralty the tank record 1918 and the
National War Bonds record 1918-1919 were won by the town
