Rev. C.F.H. Soulby donates a bell
The Newcastle Daily Chronicle 27/05/1919 reports the following:

“The Rector of Jarrow Grange
The Rev. C.F.H. Soulby, M.A., Rector of Christ Church, Jarrow, who, as announced yesterday in these columns, has been offered by the Bishop of Liverpool the post of Diocesan Inspector and Director of Religious Education in the Diocese of Liverpool, which post he has accepted, has been rector of Jarrow Grange during the past five years. He took up his work in Jarrow just before the outbreak of war. During his incumbency the organisations in the parish have considerably developed. He was responsible for the formation of a Parochial Church Council. As a thank offering for mercies vouchsafed during the war, he, together with his wife, is presenting one of two bells which are being added to the existing peal of six, to commemorate the jubilee of Christ Church, and which will be celebrated next October. Mr. Soulby is a member of the South Shields Board of Guardians, representing the Jarrow Grange Ward.”
