The families of those who fell in the Great War were each presented with a plaque of metal set on a oak pattress, 4 inches high x 6 inches wide. On one side is a soldier with rifle, on the other side is a female figure carrying a wreath, both raised in half relief. At centre is a panel with a border and ribbon at the top. This bears the dedication in individually raised sans serif capitals. The plaque reads:
Durham Miners
Association
Boldon Lodge
--------------
In honour of the memory of
(Name)
who made the supreme sacrifice
for his country
in the Great War
1914-1919.
There are two we know about dedicated to the memory of:
M. Cleghorn
John Peacock
