MIDDLETON ST. GEORGE

Mosquito crash, 1946
In the Aviation Museum, Bamburgh Castle, is a Rolls Royce Merlin 23 A engine from Mosquito T III of 13 OTU RAF Middleton St George which crashed at Thornley on 11th May 1946. It was being flown by a pupil pilot who lost control.

The crew, both of whom were killed, were:
W/O E.C. Goodman;
F/Lt. A.G. Williams (Pupil pilot);
