20th D.L.I. Battalion History book published 1920
The Newcastle Daily Chronicle 16/12/1920 reports:

Keeping Their Memory Green.
In order to keep green the names of the men who answered the call of the Sunderland Recruiting Committee in the black days of September, 1915, to form the Sunderland Infantry Battalion and a battery of Artillery, books have been published and every man who has returned and the relatives of those who paid the supreme sacrifice are to be supplied with them. Besides containing the names of those who enlisted in the 20th D.L.I. and the Wearside Artillery Brigade, a history of the battalion and battery from the formation to the demobilisation has been carefully compiled."
