Journal 28/06/2001 reports the award of a commemorative medal by the Russian Ambassador to Leslie Peter who was a crew member on H.M.S. Newcastle in the Russian convoys in 1939-45.
The medals commemorate “The 50th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945”.
