Pelton Fell United Methodist Welcome Home
The Stanley News and North West Durham Observer 25/09/1919 reports:-

The members of the Pelton Fell United Methodist Church held a welcome home to their returned soldiers in the church on Saturday afternoon. After a sermon by Rev. J.A. Thompson of Stanley, a tea was given followed by a concert and social, under the chairmanship of Mr J. Miller of Newfield.

The following is a list of ex-service men:- David York, George Howey, Con. Burnip, William Spedding, Charles Elliott, John Churchill, John Anderson, William Anderson,John Storey, William wardle, C. Burrows, S.Park, J.G. Miller, Hugh Bankhaes, RobKirkup, Fred Reed, J.G. Willis, William Wray, J. Wray, Joe Hedley, John Hedley, J.G. Kirkup, Jos Stobbs, Robert Smiles, John Wardle, Ed. Wardle, Richard Tuart, Robert Tuart, Johnson Stott, John Loan, Richard Curry, Thomas Clasper, Sam Herbert, Joe Herbert.
