Derwenthaugh War Relief Fund
Newcastle Daily Chronicle 19/10/1921 reports:

Derwenthaugh War Relief Fund.
At a meeting of the workmen employed at the Delta Iron Works, Derwenthaugh, held at Scotswood, for the purpose of considering the disbursement of £266 representing the balance of the War Relief Fund, it was decided to allocate the money as follows: £50 each to the Whickham War Memorial Cottage Hospital, Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle, and the St. Dunstan's Hostel. Two widows of workmen were voted £66 and £50 respectively.
The workmen unanimously decided to subscribe 2d per week, and youths 1d., to be divided between the Whickham Memorial Cottage Hospital and St. Dunstan's Hostel.
