Wounded Men's Final Treat

Newcastle Daily Chronicle 25/01/1919

The Newcastle Daily Chronicle 25/01/1919 reports a performance of "The Sugar Baby" at the Gateshead Empire Theatre to wounded soldiers from Whinney House. About 100 men attended. That outing was the 210th time the men had been taken to a theatre, and would be the last as the hospital was to close.
