The Newcastle Daily Chronicle 5/8/1920 reports:

"Efforts to Trace Relatives of War Victims.
The workmen of Felling Colliery have voted the sum of £5 to the nearest relative of all their fellow lodge members who were killed, or died of wounds or sickness, during the war. Up to the present, these grants have been paid out in 77 cases, and nine remain to be paid.

The relatives on these nine cases have left the immediate district and cannot be traced, but they may have the grant on application to Mr. M. Collingwood, 1 Springfield Terrace, Felling.

The names of the persons concerned in this matter are F. Henderson; J. Lyons, J. Nicholson, E. Herbertson, E. Henry, John Baines, J. Evans, J. Smith and Tom Duncan."
