At a committee meeting, held in the Colliery offices, Bowburn Colliery, Mr. J.G. Ramsay, under manager, was presented with a silver-mounted walking stick and gold-mounted Waterman fountain pen, Mr. R. Griffiths, check weighman, with an umbrella and mounted walking stick, and Mr. W.F. Gardner, cashier, with a pipe in case, and tobacco pouch, the gifts of Bowburn Colliery Soldiers’ and Sailors; Welcome Home Fund, in recognition of their energetic services as chairman, secretary and treasurer respectively of the fund.”
