In St. Mary's Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory
of
Thomas Nicholson Hood,
youngest son of the late
James Hood of Morpeth,
who died April 29th 1890, aged
30 years.
Also of Thomas Hood C.Q.M.S. 16th N.F.
elder son of James R. Hood,
and husband of Edith K. Hood,
who fell at Passchendaele,
in the service of his country
on Dec. 2nd 1917, aged 33 years.
also James Robert Hood
died January 23rd 1923 aged 66 years
Eleanor R. Hood, wife of the above
died August 1st 1941 aged 81 years
James Hood, husband of Lily
died Nov. 8th 1953
also the above Lily Hood
13th Aug. 1958, aged 86 years.
