In Bienvillers Military Cemetery, France is the Commonwealth War Grave of Second Lieutenant William Dunglinson, serving with the 1st Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 21/08/1918.

The son of John H. and Margaret Dunglinson, of 53, Esplanade, Whitley Bay, Northumberland. He enlisted September 1914. He was a native of Newcastle upon Tyne. His brother, Dan also fell.

In Newcastle (St. John’s Westgate and Elswick) Cemetery is a family headstone for Dunglinson which reads:

who died September 2nd 1915,
aged 54 years.
Dan, son of J.H. Dunglinson,
Corporal 16th Northumberland Fusiliers,
killed in action in France
July 1st 1916, aged 26 years.
William, son of J.H. Dunglinson,
Second Lieutenant
1st Northumberland Fusiliers,
killed in action in France
August 21st 1918, aged 32 years.
also of the above
John Haliburton Dunglinson
who died April 10th 1925,
aged 81 years.

William’s brother Dan Dunglinson also fell.

William Dunglinson is remembered in Fenham on F31.07 at Monkwearmouth on M46.09, in the 16th N.F. Historical Records page 96, and in 5th N.F. Battalion History page 7.
