On Lee-on-Solent Memorial is the name of Sub-Lieutenant (A) James Mason, serving on H.M.S. Indomitable with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 24/01/1945.

The son of James and Martha Mason, of Gosforth, Northumberland.

He is included in the Scout Roll of Honour 1939-45 as being associated with the 99th Newcastle upon Tyne (All Saints Group).

James Mason is remembered at Gosforth on G9.17, at Newcastle on NUT064 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
