On Portsmouth Naval Memorial is the name of Lieutenant Geoffrey Herbert Walker, D.S.C., serving on H.M.S. Bluebell with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 17/02/1945.

He was the son of Norman Duguid Walker and Ada Walker, of Ryton on Tyne, Co. Durham.

He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree at Trinity College, Cambridge.

Geoffrey Herbert Walker is remembered at Ryton on R33.01, at Gateshead in G39.103 and in our List of Ships’ Crews.
