On the Arras Memorial, France is the name of 18/1419 Private Alfred Jones, serving with the 18th Battalion Durham Light Infantry who died 03/05/1917.
The son of Lettie Jones, of 44, Ashgrove Avenue, West Hartlepool.
Alfred was born in 1890 in Northallerton, he was the youngest brother of Theophilus Jones, the first soldier to die on the Mainland of Britain for 200 years.
Alfred died in action on the 3rd of May 1917.
