Unveiled 9th April 1924 by Capt. S.K. Sargent, Chairman of the Tyne Pilotage Authority.

Right hand light:

In loving Memory of the Brave Pilots
and Crew of the Cutter Protector
which was sunk by Enemy Action.

Left hand light:

on Sunday morning December 31st 1916.
This window is erected by their
Fellow Pilots and Friends

Three lancet windows in stained glass.

The centre light depicts Christ on the cross, with a soldier and a woman and child kneeling at the foot, while a sailor holds his hat over his heart whilst gazing upwards.

The left light depicts St. Stephen with the scene of his stoning below.

The right light depicts St. Paul, with the scene of his shipwreck below.

The dedications are at the bottom of the two outer lights, in black paint on clear glass using Gothic script.

2. The cutter “Protector” of 200 tons was sunk by a mine off the mouth of the River Tyne. 19 lives were lost, including that of the Master.
