The window was unveiled 14th November 1920 by Mr. D. Northall.
The plaque was unveiled November 1921 by Mrs. J.W. Chipchase.

Stained glass window depicting the scene from Pilgrim’s Progress where the warrior arrives at the Celestial City.

There is a plaque bearing the dedication which was dedicated a year later.

1. In the Bondgate chapel, unusually, there are 6 stained glass windows to the fallen in the 1914-18 war. These were all from other Methodist chapels in the town, which became redundant and were demolished.
Upstairs, the two forward windows are a pair taken from the old Greenbank Chapel. The back two are from Rise Carr, Bondgate Chapel, including the personal memorial to Christopher Chipchase given by his parents. The two side windows downstairs came from Corporation Road”.

3. Mrs. J.W. Chipchase, who unveiled the plaque, was presented with a photograph of it as a memento.

4. The Rev. T.J. Gladwin stated that he was glad that the names had not been restricted only to those who were members of the church.

5. This window is one of two unveiled on the same day. See D40.90.
